I’m thinking of switching my ING Direct “Orange” Savings Account to a different web-based account that offers a higher rate. Currently my ING account has an APY of 2.5%, which is still higher than most traditional banks, but I’m pushing to find a better deal.

So far my search has led me to DollarSavingsDirect, an online banking division of Emigrant Bank, which offers a savings account yielding 4.0%. It’s FDIC insured and charges no fees. There is a $1,000 account minimum.

I’ll let you know if I make the switch or if I find better deals…
