I stopped by WNBC 4 this evening to speak with reporter Andrew Siff on some of the mistakes people make when switching careers and looking for new jobs in new industries. The video is posted below. Right now many Americans are reconsidering their career paths, due to lay-offs or feeling unfulfilled in their current posts, or both. Some of the “hot” transitions right now are to nursing, engineering, teaching, bio-science and information technology. If you’re thinking of a career switch first ask yourself – why am I unhappy? If you just don’t see a happy and successful future for yourself in your current industry then that might a good enough reason to start looking elsewhere.
