A Few Tax Surprises for This Freelancer
I recently blogged for Walletpop about three new things I learned about my taxes since freelancing full-time.
Self-employment has its perks, but some of the related taxes can be a pretty big pain in the you-know-what. My biggest gripe – and I just discovered this – is that I have to pay double for social security. It’s all part of the so-called “Self-Employment Tax,” or SE Tax which includes Social Security and Medicare taxes…both of which I’m not scheduled to receive. Go figure.
Check out WalletPop for the rest of my new tax findings.
