Class, Please Turn to Page 310…In Your iPhone.
Now college students have another excuse to beg mom and dad for an iPhone: I gotta have it for class!
CourseSmart, an e-textbook firm, has introduced eTextbooks, an application for Apple’s iPhone. According to CNET, the app is free, but only shows books you’ve “subscribed to” (i.e., rented), and only works when you’re connected to the web. The current version also doesn’t let you make edits or jot down notes, either, but that’s supposed to be in the works.
Call me old school but I still prefer the kind of books you can throw in a bag and lug around on campus. It builds character.
