I was browsing through Saks Fifth Avenue yesterday and spotted Sarah Russo from the finale episode of Bank of Mom and Dad. Don’t worry – she wasn’t shopping up a storm. She was working! And she had lots of great updates to share since the SOAPnet series wrapped last fall.

When I met Sarah in November, she had major dependency issues on Mom & Dad. They’d given her about $30,000 in a matter of a year, as she and mom shared a credit card and her parents paid her rent. She had a job at Saks as a sales associate, but her income was not enough to support her upscale lifestyle. We’re talking designer clothes, dinners out, manis, pedis, galore! 

Since the show ended, Sarah and her boyfriend have been living in their own apartment – which they pay for themselves. “I haven’t taken a dime from my parents since,” she said with a huge smile. Sarah has been working extra hours at Saks and her boyfriend got a new job.

She looked amazing, too – happier, more confident. Now if we can only get her younger brother on the show, she said. “He seriously think money grows on trees!”
